About us

The aim of the association is to use educational work to win people over to responsible electronics consumption and thus achieve an improvement in the situation in the producing countries.

This involves considering the entire supply chain – from raw material extraction and processing (for example, cobalt mining in the Democratic Republic of Congo) to the production of components (e.g., India) and assembly (e.g., Vietnam), and finally to disposal (e.g., e-waste landfills in Ghana).

In addition, Fair IT yourself e.V. works through cooperation with and advice to manufacturers to create concrete alternatives to the conventional exploitative production of electronic devices in order to sustainably improve the economic, social and ecological conditions in the producing countries.

The practical work gained in this way in turn flows into our educational work.
